Dr. Gonzo & Raoul DukeThis past Thursday I had the pleasure of playing Dr. Gonzo for the Flying Dog Gonzo Beer Dinner at National Mechanics. The people from Flying Dog were really great, and I think I am now hooked on their Raging Bitch Belgian-Styled Ale. Darren went as Raoul Duke and Kate, as always, did an amazing job with the decorations.

There is a much better write-up about event here:

This guy reviews my daily scotch, and I am pretty sure he gives it a favorable review… to tell you the truth, I don’t know all the terms this guy is using… I’m not that fancy. All I know is that it is one hell of a great Single Malt Islay for the price… AND that he opens the review with a bit of “Piece By Piece” by Slayer, so that really clenched the deal with me posting it. Anything combining scotch and Slayer WILL be posted to this blog.

Thanks to Judy Reiter for sending!

I recently got to participate in a beer tasting with TwoGuysOnBeer.com as they were filming their 50th post. They film at National Mechanics. They are really nice guys. I actually ran into Johnny on my way to work today and he invited me to come back on sometime. Here is the post:

I celebrated my birthday at National Mechanics a couple of weeks ago, and my friend Kate made me a MEATCAKE!!! The exclamation marks are necessary, because it should be screamed, not said.

The MEATCAKE!!! consisted of 2 meatloaf-ish areas filled with 3 whole cheddardogs cooked within, and bits of cheddardog interspliced. These 2 areas were joined with a mashed potato and bacon filling. Next, mashed potatoes were applied like a frosting, and bacon & cheddar bits sprinkled the top. The best part was that it tasted heavenly!

Thanks again Kate!!! The MEATCAKE!!!…

Yeah… this is probably my most favorite sketch (besides Mr. Marcus’ Drug Speech) ever…

Could this be a new role for Samuel L. Jackson?

Big ups to my buddy Lee Eschliman! He is part of a company that makes portable beer pong tables, and they just got featured on an ABC News story! Lee did all of the design and their website, http://www.bingbongtables.com/
